Judge Calls Out Parkland Defense for Laughing and Flipping the Bird in Court
Judge Elizabeth Scherer called out Parkland shooter's defense table for their behavior during the trial. "When these people are upset about specific things that have gone on from that table, like shooting the middle finger up at this court and laughing and joking," the judge said.

Seems things got heated between the lawyers and the judge.
I've never heard of any lawyers flipping the bird in court, what is going on here?
Most judges would immediately put the attorney in jail for contempt and the state bar would likely suspend or disbar.
I can’t see the lawyers flipping the bird, but I could see the defendant doing that since his life is fundamentally over no matter the verdict.

I can’t believe that she didn’t call for a bailiff right away.
I don’t know who that counsel is, but he did flip the bird.
He deserves to be held in contempt.
He’s dressed awfully casual for a lawyer, so he may be something else.
I’ve never flipped off a judge in the courtroom (maybe mentally...lol) but fortunately I get to practice in front of mostly really decent judges at all levels.
I know a tax lawyer that told a judge to go pound sand, when he asked him a few questions.
He got to sit in custody over the weekend.

From what I saw, the defense doesn’t respect the judge because she doesn’t require it. After all the shenanigans, all she did was make an attorney go sit in the back of the courtroom.
Sadly, she deserved what she got.

During victims statements, which I did not see all of them, were the people really making threats/speaking bad to the defense attorneys and their children?
It’s a woman, just not a very pretty one like the other lawyers in that team.

Nobody wants this puke to walk free due to a mistrial.
The prosecutors, I’m certain, would have advised against anything that could be reasonably interpreted as a threat.
I think prosecutors usually vet the words beforehand to prevent such a happening.

It shocks me what is going on, I’ve never seen a trail this poorly executed. It’s like everyone here wants Cruz to get off on appeal.
