When I was much younger, I traveled to various foreign countries. I liked to learn “please” and “thank you” first, and then all of the swear words I could, for when “please” and “thank you” didn’t work.

A lot of foreign cursing (including British and Australian) gets past most people in this country. It is pretty embarrassing, though, when somebody does understand a choice phrase that you didn’t think they would.

What’s interesting is foreign languages pretty universally have curse words! Human condition sucks everywhere and people have to have a way to express their feelings.
