INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A couple's scheme was uncovered when detectives said they found a woman attempting to smuggle narcotics to be boyfriend in jail.
Detectives with the Indian River County Sheriff's Office said they were alerted in mid-August about an inmate attempting to smuggle narcotics into their jail facility. 26-year-old inmate Alexander McKay and his girlfriend, Christine Ammon had planned on bringing drug-infused paper into the facility disguised as mail.
The sheriff's office said when the fake mail arrived the the jail, it was intercepted by detectives and sent to a local crime lab for testing. It was discovered that the paper tested positive for MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy. Fingerprints from the mail were also recovered, which led to the positive identification of Ammon.
Deputies said McKay was already in jail for multiple felonies including grand theft auto and uttering a forged instrument. He also has additional pending charges in in other counties.

This scrutiny of mail, followed by a dusting for fingerprints is what should be happening in this situation.
I guess conjugal visits are not happening for this prisoner.
That’s the other way such contraband is often floated inside.

Passing counterfeit banknotes or coins is also uttering.

Before I read the summary of the story, based on the headline I thought she might have been smuggling the drugs by hiding them in her coochie.
