The White House on November 12 hailed Russia’s withdrawal from the Ukrainian city of Kherson as an “extraordinary victory” for Ukraine.
“It does look as though the Ukrainians have just won an extraordinary victory where the one regional capital that Russia had seized in this war is now back under a Ukrainian flag — and that is quite a remarkable thing,” national-security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters as he accompanied President Joe Biden to the ASEAN summit in Cambodia.

People in Odesa celebrated on Saturday (November 12), day after Ukrainian troops arrived in the centre of Kherson, retaking the strategically important southern city. People cheered and chanted, wrapped in Ukrainian and Kherson flags in front of renowned Odesa Opera House. Among them, a newly-wed couple, a husband being from Odesa and a wife from Kherson. They have decided to get married today after hearing the news of Kherson liberation.

Ukrainian troops have begun arriving in the centre of the strategic city of Kherson after Russia’s withdrawal - with jubilant residents celebrating their liberation.
Sky’s international correspondent Alex Rossi and his team were among the first foreign journalists to reach the centre since the city was retaken.
Meanwhile, Ukraine lies in 45 percent darkness, economy and manufacturing totally destroyed, unemployment historic, food water shortages, unheard of inflation, a decade of young Ukies killed, wounded, currency destroyed, mired in unpayable debt….the suffering is overlooked by the the war cheerleaders.
No problem the war cheerleaders say, we are not yet down to the last Ukrainian.
They’ll be fine. The EU has committed to helping Ukraine get its energy flow back up and running. And the Ukrainians are fighting essentially their war for independence - which by the way, they’re winning. So don’t worry yourself about them. They’ll be fine.
