I certainly understand the sentiment.
I have come to the conclusion that we are in a period quite like the prophetical books of the Older Testament.... I just don’t think that God is calling me to a thing like the prophets, where He said “you PUBLICLY AND REPEATEDLY proclaim it, but they are not going to listen.”
I see two rxns to the PUBLIC message that a collapse is certain and coming, likely in the form of destruction, misery, and the extirmination of MOST of the USA and the west:
1) Hatred, vituperation, scorn, rejection and hostility from the wokists, and their bobble head “middle ground” people
2) (more disturbing)... a skirt swishing indignation consisting of mostly “HOW DARE YOU SAY THESE THINGS ABOUT OUR GREAT AND GLORIOUS NATION?” “you must be a closet commie” “we might be bad but we aren’t as bad as the rest of the world” “if Christians weren’t so _______ (you fill in the blank) the USA would once again be glorious” and of course (with a tip of the hat to Sean Hannity “it is because you aren’t VOTING”
Those two are social media today. Why would I want a steady diet of that?
I find that it is only when I am not immersed in all that and am in fact reading the bible that I can see more clearly my citizenship in a short lived, wicked, apostate, heritage rejecting, loyalty confused, bible ignorant, materialistic, proud, arrogant, pathetic populace, and how it infects me, can be more properly evaluated. I am assured of another more lasting citizenship and can smile at the fear.
Nations come and go. COULD God restore us or at least have mercy and not wipe us out in a horrendous collapse? Of course.
I see no reasons to assume that is coming, though. We clearly have the majority of the nation which loves death, debt debauchery and idolatry.
“Elections” are not so much a vehicle to ensure freedom, select governments, and set the course of a nation, as they are to be a snapshot of the relative wisdom and foolishness of a peoples. 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012,.... 2020 and now 2022 are a pounding, boldface, 17000 decibel, underlined flashing HTML font announcement that we are beyond rescuing. They are one portent after another of a catastrophic end to life as we know it.... call that drama queen crap if you like (won’t be the first time I have heard it). We are not going to vote ourselves out of this.
All is lost, yet all is NOT lost. I have a different citizenship and have zero interest wailing and/or interacting to those whose foundation is firmly fixed on quicksand.
The collapse of the west will not be the abandonment of the world to savagery, murder, totalitarianism and barbarism, though that may appear to be. Wealth will vaporize, but much will be transferred to new parties. Freedom is embedded in the heart of man, and eventually the fools who insist on standing culture, economics and faith on their heads will die. Maybe wisdom will be in vogue again then.
Nothing left but to wait for it to burn, and sit tight to help pick up the pieces and reconstruct. I don’t need a steady diet of social media to plan that.
