NEW YORK - The most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows over seven in 10 U.S. adults aged 20 and older are either overweight or obese. The problem is bigger in some states than in others, though. WalletHub took a closer look in their list of 2022’s Most Overweight & Obese States in America.

West Virginia was ranked the most overweight state, followed by Mississippi and Kentucky. Colorado finished as the least overweight state. Here are the rankings across the tristate area:

Connecticut: 38 overall, 33 in obesity and overweight prevalence, 37 in health consequences and 38 in food and fitness.

New Jersey: 40 overall, 42 in obesity and overweight prevalence, 25 in health consequences and 37 in food and fitness.

New York: 44 overall, 43 in obesity and overweight prevalence, 38 in health consequences and 27 in food and fitness.

ROTFL. We aren't quite that bad, not in farm country anyway. The big cities where people don't have anything to do but eat at McDonalds, maybe. 😁

I am in a rural East Tennessee mountain county, and there are PLENTY of fatties wobbling around...you would think all that climbing would do them some good. :-)

With coming hunger wave, the overweight/obese people are set to survive.
The slim people have no chance!

Amazed that California isn’t near the top. There are more fat people here than I have ever seen, 3 out 0f 4 in my estimation and it is not uncommon to have 2 heffers blocking the entire aisle at Costco.

The fattest people I ever saw were in St. Louis, MO. Arizona isn’t too bad, but some of those people living on the reservations weigh down (ha ha) the average. ;)

Type 2 diabetes, which is where all this “obesity” ends up, is reversible; however, to actually deal with this “epidemic” is like spitting into the wind because you are fighting guess who? Big Pharma, their bought/paid for enablers in the Industrial Medical Comples, & Big Ag.

It’s “criminal” that so-called public health does not actually care about health as in wellness ... it’s continuing those policies/practices that result in ill health so Big Pharma can peddle their drugs to relieve the ‘symptoms’ of what ails ya. Medical schools don’t teach true medicine ... memorize those lists of symptoms & the drugs that go with them. The COVID crap is just a more focused version of what is going on with the “obesity” epidemic. BTW, those docs that don’t go along with “the narrative” with pushing more insulin/drugs, unhealthy food/patterns of eating, etc. are ALSO vilified, threatened with having their licenses taken away, etc. .... when this happened with COVID, I had seen it before with docs reversing T2D, metabolic syndrome, etc.

A simple “prescription”: Be kind to the ones you love, eat REAL food (not processed crap, sugar, vegetable seed oils), and get outside (Vit D, activity).

That is one area where red states especially in the south win. Southern states have some fat people. I often wonder why they let themselves gets so bad.

Here’s a link to the source. https://wallethub.com/edu/fattest-states/16585

If you click on the far right column, which shows “food & fitness”, you can see that the Southern states take up most of the first top 10 or so. All that fried food, I think. Yummy, but have to eat those sparingly.

“Colorado finished as the least overweight state.”

Wonder if that has to do with the ‘diet’ of pot and Cheetos that’s so popular there? *SMIRK*

Arizona is only #43. We’re going to have to do better. Pass the donuts, please.

I knew Tennessee would be in the top ten. A majority of Tennesseans are obese — not just overweight, but obese. That’s a crazy stat. And there are five states that are worse, and a bunch that aren’t too far behind.

You’d think Covid might have driven a national discussion about the obesity problem, but nope. Instead it’s full steam ahead to normalize it.

Wisconsin is slipping! We used to be right up there with the other fatties. We’re still in the middle of the pack at #28, though.

That said, we can OUT-DRINK any of ya! And these days, that ALONE should count for something, LOL!

P.S. I agree with all that you said. It really IS that simple. ;)

Great post.

The medical establishment isn’t really looking to help people be well. They are just in to pushing drugs that will create side effects, so that they can give you some other drug that will help with the new condition they’ve helped to create.

It really disgusts me.

Thank goodness for the Biden America Starve Program. We’re about to see a lot of those excess pounds starved off the unsubsidized working poor and middle class.
