A Florida man has been arrested for DUI and animal cruelty after punching a dog and throwing it down steps.
Deputies responded to a home on SE 149th Place in reference to a disturbance.
When deputies arrived they learned that, while he was intoxicated, Deanta Bridges, 27, punched a dog and threw it outside down a set of steps.
Deputies say he left the home in a vehicle prior to the deputies’ arrival, despite the fact that he was under the influence of alcohol.
Bridges was later located and agreed to perform Field Sobriety Exercises, and was placed under arrest for animal cruelty, DUI, and driving with a suspended license.
He also refused to provide a breath sample after being transported to the Marion County Jail.

Before I judge this man, I need to know how big the dog is, and how loud it was barking. We have some around here that I’d like to punch now and then... :-)
He’ll get more prison time than a NYC murderer..and likely much higher bail..for punching a dog.
If it was a chihuahua I’d give him a break.

The offender needs to spend some time with an aggitated K9 officer.
This is really funny, however I am from PA and can no longer laugh at “Florida man” jokes.
