All accurate except I’d shift the scorching desert a bit more northwest and I’ve never heard of man-eating koalas. :)

Everything, including government, in Australia wants to kill you.

Good thing Grandpa was there to rescue to rescue the lad. Yay, Gramps, you rock!

Lots of baddies in SE Asia as well as Australia. I recall reading about a man partially eaten by a python in Malaysia back in the mid-90s. This was a couple of years after a huge reticulated python decided to hang out in our office bathroom in Cambodia. When a staff member rushed in to tell me about it, he called it a Pee-ton. So I had to play “I’m thinking of an animal” with him.

“What color is it?”

“Color like the camouflage, Lady.”

“Okay. How many legs?”

“No legs, Lady.”

“Oh, a python!”

I was going to go catch the darn thing and put it out, but decided to check out whether they can bite first and got on the sat phone. Good thing I did. Of course they are not poisonous, but they do have a nasty germ-laden bite. We chased it away by banging spoons on pots instead.

One swallowed a woman whole in Indonesia a few years ago:

We had lots of poisonous snakes including sea snakes, huge salt crocs, scorpions galore, humongous poisonous centipedes, big bad poisonous spiders, etc., too. But the darn rats were the most bothersome. The tropics are such fun! But you do get used to it.

The oceans there are filled with deadly threats from stinging jellyfish with poison that stops your breathing to monster sharks that often run 25 feet long.

I am sure you know of the cone snails, which have the most venomous neurotoxin on the planet. So if want a relaxed day hanging out on the beach collecting sea shells, then think twice

Life is often interesting in the land down under. Every acre contains 100 ways to die. Yeah, buddy. Sounds like Texas
