I don’t see the gyroscope part? Any equatorial mount will do the same thing.

Over a limited range (degrees), depending on the exact design.

You are correct. The photographs are just examples of lighting the foreground land some in a tracked long exposure astrophotograph.

No need for a gyroscope, just an equatorial mounted camera.

No, in the case of the equatorial mount the star field would change.
