Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham penned an emotional tribute to “sister” Christine McVie following her “sudden” death on Wednesday.
“Christine McVie’s sudden passing is profoundly heartbreaking. Not only were she and I part of the magical family of Fleetwood Mac, to me Christine was a musical comrade, a friend, a soul mate, a sister,” the 73-year-old wrote on Instagram Thursday.
“For over four decades, we helped each other create a beautiful body of work and a lasting legacy that continues to resonate today,” he continued, adding that he feels “very lucky to have known her.”

Didn’t Buckingham get booted from the band years ago?
I think it was just before COVID. But he knew the woman since 1975, you think he forgot about her already?
Never heard of any of these people. I know of the band. I’ve never understood why anyone cares who the band members are. They’re all interchangeable libs in Hollyweird.
You would never break the chain
Chain keep us together
Their relationships were so intertwined that John McVie played bass for “You Make Loving Fun” which his soon to be ex wife wrote about the dude she was having an affair with
In that band, it may not just have been their souls that mated.
It was weirder is she was having an affair with the band’s lighting guy. But don’t worry, she told the bassist it was about her dog.
Yes, it was the lighting guy, and she would maintain a relationship with with Dennis Wilson and they apparently all hung out together.
Dennis Wilson, who drowned a few years later?
Some comedian once observed that Stevie Nicks made Lindsey Buckingham sing the songs she wrote about what an a-hole he was…
I thought Stevie Nicks did - what a diva!
His magical family publicly dumped him.
About 5-6 years ago Buckingham and McVie toured together. I missed the show here 9n Indy and will always regret it. They were the two best songwriters and instrumentalists in the Mac.
I must disagree. While I am not a Fleetwood Mac fan at all and consider Buckingham an uber a-hole...he is a very talented guitarist. Mind bogglingly so. Interchangeable is not a word I would use to describe him.
Watch this short video and be amazed.
First CD that I bought was Rumors. Too bad that they were a bunch of degenerate hippy drug users.
Then, why did you click on this thread?
That can be said of many, many rock bands.
Kinda of yes, he refused to tour becuase he wanted to do his single tour. BUT, get ready for a major new tour announcement now that people see these bands won't be around forever. I suspect they are saying they want a tour in 2023 to honor her. It will most likely be huge.
