Omicron is why. Africa is thin and young. So they were not going to get it or die. Omicron which is not a variant of COVID in the rest of the world but rather a variant of the COVID from the lab leak, was first found in Africa. And Omicron is no more deadly than the common cold.
The question you should ask is why African Americans die faster than white Americans. But Africans from Africa don’t. Answer, Africans are not fat. And even they have a healthier diet than Americans. Especially African Americans. Obesity and its related issues cause death in COVID patients 300% greater than a person who is merely over weight. And because of AIDS, Africa’s average age is 15 years younger than most first world countries. Age increases the mortality of COVID 1000%.
Plus, how did a virus, so close to the original lab leak strain, get to Africa without being anywhere else first. And why is it exactly like the original virus except that its not lethal. And why are we still advocating for vaccines when Omicron is the perfect vaccine. It works better and it works longer than any vaccine. And its free.
Nope. Africans in Africa get more sunlight and therefore, higher percentage of vitamin D in their blood and tissue. In addition, many take HCQ, regularly.

I’m trying to understand this sentence. Isn’t the original COVID the same virus that came from the Lab leak?
Gas_dr said the same thing. But you're right. We should see another variant like Delta. But so far that's not the case. Omicron is one year old. It's still the dominant variant.
I'll take a wild guess it has something to do with the increasing Chinese presence in Africa.
Patient 0 for Omicron was thought to be an HIV+ patient. No suprise there. Immunocompromised patients can harbor low levels of a virus for a very long time while they mutate away under “low pressure” from the patient’s immune system. In a host with a healthy immune system, the virus is wiped out in fairly short order — or, in the case of Covid and some other diseases, the immune system might sometimes go into overdrive (cytokine storm) and kill the host.
Given the high prevalence of HIV in sub-Saharan Africa, it’s no wonder Omicron emerged there. Do an internet search on “Omicron Africa HIV” (without the quotation marks) and you will see.
