To be fair, Android (Google) is just as bad,
Ehhhhhhh ... I fault Apple for a lot of things, but I’ve never seen this one.
I have run into it three times. With my first iPhone, it was several versions old and after one particular update all my extra storage was disappearing. ISame thing with my second, but it actually bricked on an update due to the FireWire slot being loose and the cable not having a good connection. I have not taken any pictures with my most current phone in the last several months, nor have I added music. But I'll be dipped if my current phone all of the sudden is out of space again. Last month, it wasn't even 65% full.
I have had to purchase storage space 2x and I barely use my phone for ANYTHING!!!
More Russian propaganda.
Notice that NONE of the links in that “article” actually go to the content they claim to be using as their “evidence” -
But perusing his TikTok page shows me a deranged, disgruntled, and likely extremely incompetent “former Apple employee” (the latter I didn’t find actual evidence of).
Correct. The “article” links actually go to other content on the web host’s server - directing hits - but never actually going to sources or evidence.
Thank you so much, Swordmaker. You have always been such a good and trustworthy resource for me when I have had questions, and have always given such great help.
I have missed you. I hope all is getting a bit better, but I know how long it takes. Been there and am doing that.
My best to you.
Ridiculous. Anyway, everyone knows Apple’s doing this to push business toward iCloud. /rimshot
I call BULL CRAP on this. My family and I have owned iPhones for MANY years and have never had to get a new iPhone because of storage being used up. And when you have kids they store a mammoth amount of data on their phones.
I’m inclined to agree with you. My IPhone 14 pro is almost 3 years old, and I only have 31 gigs used, out of 256gigs storage.
As much as I hate Apple’s politics, they do make great products. I’m typing this on my IPad, I just wish they weren’t so expensive.
ALL HAIL SWORDMAKER!!!
Yep, that's pretty much me too.
> I’m typing this on my IPad...
Yep, me too. LOL
Apple ripoff artists! lolllzzzz. I own a large screen Samsung and it has all I need.
lol...well there you have it!.....Nobody should read past your post #5......
the rest of the comments must be Russian disinformation...
I did a similar study on refrigerators ..... My family and I have owned refrigerator for MANY years and have never had to get a new refrigerator because of storage being used up. ..../s

Uh, no, they weren’t. Apple was throttling the processor speed of those older iPhones under high amperage load, when the batteries in them were chemically depleted to prevent the built-in protective circuitry in the batteries provided by third party maker would force the battery to otherwise shut down the battery completely. This allowed the battery to continue phone operation for several more more hours before recharging and extended the depleted battery’s useful life without overheating. Apple did in fact explain that in the update notes when that functionality was added. Installing a fresh, new battery would restore full, non-throttling functionality to one’s iPhone, something that could be done one’s self for less than $15.
And, no, Apple did not give all user information to the communists. Apple, just like Android phone providers in China had to obey Chines government law which required that ALL users of cloud services on mobile devices in China had their data stored on servers inside the borders of China. Apple was forced to move Chinese Apple iCloud users’ Data from outside China to servers inside China or abrogate millions of contracts. The servers in China are at the Chinese telecom agencies. Apple negotiated that the data remained encrypted and the keys to that encryption remained with Apple China, with user data only being revealed with a proper search warrant issued by a Chinese court, just as it is in the US.
The iPhone feature of talking between phones is again Apple being forced to comply with Chinese laws. All Android devices are required to do the same as well.
Apple can’t just PUSH out an update on its devices that turn off a key feature built into the devices that use WIFI. Are you really so lame as to think the CCP is gonna wait for an updated iOS download to thousands of iPhones, user required acceptance , the restart, across multiple models of iphones, to shut down a demonstration? The actual fact is the Chinese government merely shuts down cellular and WIFI signals in the areas of any demonstrations, crippling that feature anyway.
Again more propaganda repetition from you.
