I watched a couple hours of Turning Point’s AMFEST last night. The excellent outreach they have for the black community gives me hope.
Yep. When my daughter was in elementary school (1980s) she and a black kid named Michael were the best students in her classes. When they got to junior high, Michael's grades went to hell in a handbasket. My daughter asked him about it, and he said making good grades makes him look too white in his black community. He decided that he'd rather be a part of his in-crowd.
