They’ll find this guy eventually. My advice? Don’t even talk to the police. Nothing. There’s no obligation to talk to them, and they have nothing to charge him with. So don’t open your mouth and give them a reason to come up with something.
Don't commit robberies with fake guns in Texas because a lot of Texans have real guns.
On a related note, my 11-yo son received as a gift a Beretta Airsoft gun that looks and feels exactly like a real handgun. It's even made of metal. The orange tip, mandated by federal law, so I've heard, comes right off.

If`n the all cops would get out of their cars for good and walk the beat, they might even deter these robberies by their mere being on the sidewalks 24/7.. They might even hear gunshots as they happen..... duuuuhhhhh Crooks aren`t robbing restaurants in their cars, not robbing drive-thru`s.....

the cop has to walk also.
Otherwise the cop is deaf, dumb and blind and comes later when it`s all over and he doesn`t even know what the hello was going on.

Why even investigate this? Unless the police want to REWARD the shooter. Sounds like eveyone got their stuff and money back.

Great video too. The perp had the courtesy to die on the run saving the owner from mopping up a mess of blood. And throwing his drink on him. Great stuff.

My understanding of Texas law is that you can shoot a person committing a crime.
This is unlike many other states where a person can rob a store and the proprietor can only watch it happen.

I watched the video a couple of times. The hero was careful to wait for the opportunity for a clean shot without risking others being in the line of fire. There was one customer to the right of the line of fire, but unless the hero was a really bad shot, he was not in danger. Who knows whether the thug was leaving. He didn’t seem to exactly be announcing to the crowd his itinerary.
He baffles me that after the fact so many people pretend they are mind-readers and know exactly how far the criminal plans to go. He is already robbing them while pointing a gun at them. How do they know he is not going to start killing them one by one in the next minute. And, he didn’t announce the gun was fake.
The perp was still armed, still a threat, and NOT FLEEING, as the article might have you believe ("...as he was leaving")
