Federal judge upholds West Virginia 'Save Women's Sports' law barring trans athletes from girls' sports teams

A federal judge in West Virginia has upheld a state law that prohibits biological male student athletes who identify and present themselves as female from playing on girl's school sports teams.

Judge Joseph R. Goodwin of the Southern District of West Virginia ruled on Thursday that H.B. 3293, the "Save Women's Sports Bill," which defines "girl" and "woman" as biologically female for the purpose of secondary school sports, is "constitutionally permissible." The court found that West Virginia's definition of "biological sex" for school sports is "substantially related to its important interest in providing equal athletic opportunities for females."

This will probably send this craziness to SCOTUS since I believe some liberal judge has said guys in girls sports is constitutional.

Get ready for the NCAA transgender sports. I can see it now, the Wild World of Drag Queen Sports. Bruce Jenner could be the color commentator. 😂

Having their own competition class would be fine with me....just get ‘em away from the REAL females.

Although I strongly suspect the end game is to be able to compete against women in the Olympics and steal medals.

They know damn well if they had a strictly transgender competition class the issue would die on the vine. Not enough athletes or teams.

The WNBA and NWSL have limited appeal to a select audience. Right or wrong both are viewed as lesbian leagues and have huge gay followings. Turns people away. I saw this at NWSL games, it is unfair as the majority of players are straight with families. But the in your face gay fans drive people away. Transgender leagues are a nonstarter.

Not just sports but it should apply to bathrooms and locker rooms as well.
