I wonder what percentage of Black/Hispanic actually pay income taxes? While many don’t benefit from these deductions, I bet a lot of them actually pay no income taxes or get an earned income tax credit.

Capital gains is often just a recapture of inflation when an asset is held for a long term. If the asset went up slower than the dollar you are paying income taxes on an asset that lost value.

Question - I have donated quite a bit to different shops that benefit charities and different animal rescues. They ask if I want a receipt and I always say no as I didn’t think I would hit that threshold where I could use it for a tax deduction. How much do you need to donate before hitting that where it matters?

What the hell are they talking about? I am 63 years old still working and have been since i was 12. I have paid and still do my share of taxes. I have learned and seen throughout my life ,you have to work to get anything if your white. If you’re a minority you get sh!t handed to you all the time. What utter tripe. I’m not white and I make use of all the deductions and tax offsets legally available to me. This is a case of correlation of data that this reporter is trying to insinuate into a race issue.
