John McCain was born in Panama, to parents who were not a citizen of that country. Therefore he must have been a Panamanian citizen?
Panama did not own the Panama Canal Zone. It was an Unincorporated Territory of the United States when McCain was born at the Naval Hospital on the Coco Solo Naval base in 1937.
