A 19-year-old Iowa woman has been charged with bilking hundreds of donors out of more than $37,000 by lying on TikTok and GoFundme about battling pancreatic cancer and having a tumor “the size of a football,” police said.
Madison “Maddie” Russo was arrested on Jan. 23 on a first-degree theft charge, a felony punishable in Iowa by up to 10 years in prison, according to the Eldridge Police Department.
Police said Russo faked having Stage 2 pancreatic cancer, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, “and a tumor the size of a football that wrapped around her spine.”
The accused con artist documented her bogus cancer battle on TikTok and on a GoFundMe page, through which she had raised $37,303 from more than 439 unsuspecting donors, officials said.

I can’t believe people do this, but you see it happen more often than you think.
It has reached the point that you cannot afford to believe anything regarding charities, even people on the street asking for money. Be careful and select charities and ministries that you have confirmed. Recently I received a letter asking for money for the Ukraine because it is extremely cold there.. And what of the billions of dollars Biden has sent there? Maybe they are burning paper currency to keep warm?
I was pumping gas into my 16 yr old Toyota suv, and a guy pulls up to the other side of the pump in a like new Jeep cherokee limited. He asks for anything, he ‘left’ his wallet home. I gave him $5. I noticed tattoos on exposed neck and arms, and thought, “I’m too nice of a guy, this dude needs self discipline in several areas”.
I had that happen when my husband was pumping gas. An amish man walked up and said he didn’t have any money for gas and asked my husband for some cash. I jumped out of the car and told that beggar to go return those Oreo Double Stuffed cookies he just bought from the gas station to get some cash. He grinned and kept walking.... and got into a brand new Lexus that was parked at the pump behind us.
Another woman accosted me in her Volvo when I was walking from the parking lot into HomeGoods and begged for gas money. She had a HUGE full Starbucks fruity drink in her cupholder and I told her she should have planned better and paid for gas before her $10 drink. She made a horrible slur about me and I smiled and notified her that I was going to my HOME where MY HUSBAND was waiting for me with dinner and asked her what she was going home to. She peeled out of the parking lot.
Screw these beggars.

Btw, my wife loves HOT black coffee, nothing else in it, and can’t stand $tarbuck$, gives her a headache. (Me, I don’t drink coffee. Never aquired a taste for it. Don’t like anything I can’t gulp if needed, so that rules out hot drinks entirely).
My brother puts so much cream and sugar in his coffee, our dad would quip, “Kyle, you want some coffee with your cream and sugar?”.
When beggars approach me at gas stations I pretend I’m deaf.
So it is not a tumah.
Starbucks coffee taste like what you drain out of your lawnmower.
It’s disgusting.
Yet people give MILLIONS to the Clinton Foundation....
