I have eaten bear meat too. It wasn’t bad.
I do remember reading that the grizzly population was down to 200(might have been 800). Their most popular area was present day Los Angeles, meaning they like human friendly areas.
I’ve eaten it also...Burgers on the grill. Very good.
depends on what the animal has been eating. If they have gorged themselves on berries, the meat is not bad. If their diet has had a lot of salmon, then the meat sorta tastes like rotten fish.
