While some Republicans blame the COVID-19 vaccine or “wokeness” for the Army’s recruiting woes, the military service says the bigger hurdles are more traditional ones: Young people don’t want to die or get injured, deal with the stress of Army life and put their lives on hold.

A friend in the USMC told me that in the past 15 years, drill sergeants have to deal with calls from anxious and hovering parents. And now its worse than ever.

Idiots. Military people have always been for the most part have been straight strong young men in the prime of live who have tons of testosterone pumping through their systems. In other words people who feel impervious. Throughout history and throughout every culture this has been the norm that makes up the military. But that’s been deemed toxic masculinity and the Satanic deep state is trying to breed or medicate this out of boys.
I believe people just don’t feel that it’s worth defending anymore because the country doesn’t stand for anything anymore. It’s just one big Kleptocracy now.
It makes all the sense in the world to want to join the military run by a government that wants you dead. /s

Exactly right. It is wokeness and propaganda in the schools from pre-school through graduate school that is destroying patriotism in this country. As ususal, the leftist AP intentionally fails to connect the dots. I do believe though that the affirmative action SecDef and the woke Chairam Milley’s focus on wokeness rather than training to fight is a major impediment to recruiting. Especially the forced jab or a career is ruined policy.

Females bring a different culture to the military, they accelerate the left’s process of changing the military into just another federal job, and in time unionized.
The females will have the effect of focusing on safety, comfort, quality of life issues, daycare, childcare and time at home, constant attention from medical people and therapists, less stressful exercises, always better pensions, pay and benefits, and health care for all of the early discharges and post-service military care for all of the injuries women suffer from doing routine male work and stress that their bodies and bones, and minds aren’t built for.
War, combat, harsh living in cold, wet, and heat, unwashed clothes, unhealthy field eating, being away from the kids and doctors, basically what military life is all about and always has been, is not something that females will tolerate and they will make things the way they want them eventually.
They are “stuck on stupid.”
Why fight and die for in a crap country that can’t understand liberty and freedom anyway. Who would want to die for that. How many Americans died in Afghanistan so we could just give it back to the Taliban ?
