LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile had to make a pit stop on Friday after thieves targeted the iconic vehicle.
The catalytic converter on the 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels was stolen, according to Joseph Rodriguez with Penske Trucks.
According to Rodriguez, his team at Penske helped give the vehicle a temporary repair so it could get back on the road.
Rodriguez said staff at Penske near West Hacienda Avenue and South Decatur Boulevard sealed up where the catalytic converter had been cut.
The iconic vehicle was back on the road and able to make it to its first stop of the weekend.

Some of the best COPS episodes were shot in Las Vegas.
Horrible crime a couple blocks from the strip.

If I were his boss I’d have a talk with him about talking to the media about breaking FEDERAL LAW.

I was fully expecting this to be a Babylon Bee story. The way things are going, the BB will have to call their website, “The Nation's Premier News Source”.

I listened to an old interview with John Draper (AKA ‘Capn’Crunch’) the former ‘phone phreak’. He discovered that the Oscar Meyer whistle sounded the same tone that the AT&T system did to indicate an available trunk line. He went on to create the ‘little blue box’ tone generator - which eventually helped lead to Apple. Of course, he also ‘went on’ to do time in prison for playing with the phone system. Very strange story about the obsession people had with phone system hacking.

That’s just two miles from me. Hope they don’t steal the catalytic converter off my 1957 Bel Air. My favorite hardware store, McFadden Dale, is right near that corner.
