It would be fair to say Special Report is fair and balanced. The rest of the shows are 100% commentary. Lies go with it. Why fair and balanced? That’s the news hour. They can’t get away with lies. The fact that they said it way back to Bret Hume was the challenge. They called out other networks on their bs. When they find a leftie brave enough to go on they pounce on him/her. That’s fair when the facts get stretched.
That Gutfeld. Not funny enough. It will go the way of Kruthhammer/O’rielly. Greta Sustern got out at the right time.
Sure they can. It’s oh so easy. They pick the stories to talk about, they pick the parts to emphasis. They don’t have to flat out lie, they just nuance the truth. One of the more obvious tricks is when they do and when they don’t list a person’s party affiliation. Liberal “news” organizations always list the party affiliation when a Republican gets in a scandal and never do for a Democrat. A “news” organization selling itself as “conservative” reverses that. There are a million ways to include or exclude small pieces of information to make sure the story sells to your target audience. It’s all about the apple cart and keeping as full as possible for the commercial break. If you find it “fair and balanced” it just means you agree with their spin. Truly fair and balanced you won’t like about half the time.
