Got a particular make in mind?

If your not dead set on domestic I can’t say enough about the Toyota Tacoma.

Some might poopoo them because they are at least partially built in Mexico but one of the main reasons Toyota has such a good reputation is they instill the Toyota quality mindset into their employees regardless where the plant is located.

I had a 2009 Tacoma until I sold it and bought a Jeep.......I love my Jeep but the quality of fit form and function is just not at the Toyota level.

Regardless good luck with your potential purchase.

I have a 37 inch inseam and the Japs at Toyota still can't deal with that. What? Those people don't play basketball?

Couldn’t agree more! I’ve owned two 4x4 Tacomas, and loved them both. If I wasn’t pulling a 14,000lb trailer often, I’d be driving my 2015 Taco still.

Drove one recently. I wouldn’t buy one.

I found hauling lumber was better in a 4runner than a Tacoma. I put the passenger seat all the way forward and had a hitch mount cargo carrier and could haul 10-foot lumber without it extending past the end of the carrier. Not sure you could do that in a Tacoma. Also, an older used 4runner is a lot cheaper than a comparable Tacoma. The Tacoma could haul bulk goods such as gravel however.

Tacomas demand top price on the used truck market, but they have such a tiny bed that I can’t justify it.

Yes, Tacoma or Tundra, depending on one's needs. You get what you pay for is true when buying a Toyota. One would like to see a 3/4 ton Tundra, that would be most excellent.

All the domestic brands are passe now, each for their own reason. I'm driving my last Ford right now. How long will it last? We'll see.

I'll echo the Toyota Tacoma comment! My 2023 TRD OffRoad is an amazing vehicle!

Great ride, mine's fully loaded w/leather interior, moonroof, the complete tech package, locking rear diff, full tow package and factory lift. There wasn't another option available to put on it, I got it all.

The 3.5L VVT engine has plenty of power and torque, it accelerates well (don't know what they did to it between 2017 and 2022 that people complained so much about that, mine's a rocket off the line) and actually has some style compared to the other trucks in its class.

I like my new Taco TRD quite a bit.
