Mel Farr, a former football player owned Mel Farr Motors in Detroit and several other states. At one point, his was the largest black owned business in the United States. He served the sub-prime used car market.
He got in a lot of trouble for predatory lending with up to 25% interest rates plus he installed remote kill switches in cars. When a buyer defaulted, they would flip the switch and the car would stop. Driveway, parking lot, roadway, freeway, wherever.
Mel Farr, Superstar. That was his TV ad persona with a red cape and everything.

I had two that I’d love to have back- My ‘71 Skylark Custom and the ‘69 Impala convertible. The Buick had a 350 in it and the Chevy had a 327.
