Recent First Ladies and Their Academic Degrees: A Look at their Degree-awarded Ventures in Academic Expositions

The privileges, interests, biographies, fetishes and investments of
researchers typically remain subtext.

I am frankly amazed at the intellectual ineptitude revealed by our recent Democrat First Ladies’ degree-awarded ventures in academic exposition and by the media adulation they have received for their efforts. Having recently published an analysis of Jill Biden’s doctoral dissertation, pointing out its utter inadequacy, I find it comes as no surprise that former First Lady Michelle Obama considers it a work of substantial merit and heaps accolades on Biden as “a brilliant woman who has distinguished herself in her profession.”

Michelle Obama is herself the recipient of an academic honor in the shape of a Bachelor’s Degree from Princeton for her senior thesis, “Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community,” in which she attempts to estimate “an introspective measure of change, as perceived by the individual” in “the effects of a Princeton education on Blacks and Black students’ attitudes…pre-, intra-, and post-Princeton.” A putative achievement of this dubious nature does not confirm Obama (then Michelle LaVaughn Robinson) as qualified to comment on the brilliance of others.

Given the acclaim Michelle Obama has enjoyed for her influential public voice, it behooves us to consider where and how her career acquired its impetus — her vaunted thesis. True, the thesis was written many years ago, but let us not forget that it served as Obama’s ticket into the “new elite,” despite its being a gallimaufry of platitudes and pseudo-academic fustian.

Indeed, there are so many verbal and grammatical gaffes peppering the study that one scarcely knows where to begin.

Almost immediately in her preamble, for example, we find a dangling modifier, the sort of thing that we used to have drilled out of us in grade 5: “As a future Black alumnus, this study is interesting…” A study is not an alumnus. Two words sometimes meld together as one, e.g. “underwhich,” reminiscent of my own students’ predilection for “alot.” Travis Kavulla at National Review flags “Predominately” for “Predominantly,” “their” for “there,” and blacks compared to “other” Third World Students. He might have added “accomlishes” and “effected” for “affected.” We note, too, there are very few references — a damning omission — as well as a citation with no source.

Elite has been nothing more than a conferred title of nobility for scores of years. It stopped being an an earned achievement in nearly 60 years imho.

Michelle Obama certainly got a pass on her thesis - in a way a Republican first lady wouldn’t have been.

It was so bad it was laughable.

Criticizing it is deemed racist, so it is left alone -while she is hailed, feted and honored as a “Princeton Graduate.”

I regret not having paid more attention to sentence structure in school. That subject was taught in elementary school and faded out during high school. Knowing sentence structure is coming in handy when looking at the original Greek texts of the Bible. Proper understanding changes the textual interpretation dramatically.

I remember Rush playing clips of Michelle Obama saying she was “down with the struggle” (she pronounces it “schtruggle,” which Rush used) - as she had doors opened for her repeatedly and was given pass after pass due to Affirmative Action, quotas and looking the other way when it comes to black underachievement.

She was pushed forward far far beyond her level of achievement and intelligence.

Doors were thrown open for her that wouldn’t be opened - and are in fact closed - for Whites and Asians.

Just more evidence to justify why everyone should question the qualifications or skills of any minority on the “approved” list.

It’s easier to just pass them on than to face accusations of racism.

This of course hurts the minorities who actually have the qualifications and skill the most, as everyone will assume they are just an Affirmative Action hire form the get go.

Those people aught to be livid over this kind of crap, and speak out loudly. I wonder why they don’t.

Big Mike’s thesis is an embarrassment even at the community college level.

It would seem that both Michelle O and Kamala both mastered liberal newspeak and dish up word salads. “Dr” Jill Biden, however, wrote her thesis in the educational glossolalia that permeates schools of education.

She was pushed forward far far beyond her level of achievement and intelligence.

Her biggest position was as an administrator at a southside Chicago hospital. She was selected for a “new position” that just opened - as soon as Obama was selected as Illinois Senator! Then, as soon as he left his senator slot, Michelle's administrator position was closed. And never filled again.

Just another Chicago-Illinois state-city bribe to their selected politicians.

As fun as this jumble is to wrote about, the reason for Michelle’s “resignation” from the Ilinois Bar would be a much better thing to research and write about.
