First thing I did when I got into Chinese dramas was to pass around a vocabulary cheat sheet to friends of pronunciations with the fantasy of picking up a bit of language. But, alas, I’m as bad with languages today as I was with Russian and French in college. But I did achieve one success. I was able to create a new translation of a Korean song that matched in English the stresses and syllables of the Korean lyrics.

TOP GUN MAVERICK won the Best Sound Effects award...I thought that the movie had good sound effects...

No mention of Robert Blake...Jimmy Kimmel joked about maybe mentioning his name during memorial segment...
Jimmy Kimmel did make a comment aimed at Tucker Carlson...About January 6 footage...
Kimmel didn’t just mention it, he snidely tried to make a joke of it.
I don’t hold any special affection for Robert Blake; for all I know he was a total a**hole.
But, rightly or wrongly, he was acquitted of his wife’s murder, and had a long and storied acting career dating back to his childhood.
Blake just died, for crying out loud, and likely hasn’t even been buried yet.
Kimmel, true to form, is the total **hole, and the Academy should be ashamed for not including Blake in its memorial segment.
You are correct...Blake was not convicted...I guess he could have been included...
But, the Academy wanted to avoid controversy...
