...only because it supports his cronies. Yet another example of crony capitalism.

"Biden to approve major oil project in Alaska"

Plugs hasn't replaced any Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) oil yet. The current amount of crude oil in SPR storage is 371,579 thousand barrels. There was 638,086 thousand barrels in the SPR when biden entered office in January 2021.

I’d love to be wrong.

But I’m not.

“Yeah, what’s the catch?”

It’s federal land, they’ll find other reasons to stop the drilling, or at least stop production. Severance fees come to mind, for starters.

He won’t run again. The Dems will pick someone else.

Yeah, what’s the catch?

Gotta have some drilling so Antifa can implement some oil spillage.

And then initiate some "mostly peaceful" riots/protests.

Bribery is the coin of the realm in all third world countries.

That includes the US.

Let me think:
I short ‘Oil Stocks’ the announce the government is going to ban oil. Oil Stocks tumble on the Market and the man who shorted the stocks makes millions.

Then you buy the stocks of the companies who own certain leasing rights in Alaska. You buy their stocks at rock bottom prices and then announce they will be allowed to drill. Then you make millions more as the price sky rockets.
This has been going on since Biden was first elected to office 50 years ago.

Biden had no choice but to make a move that will maintain America’s status as the world’s largest producer of oil.

The catch is not approving the entire project but doling it out piecemeal in the approval process. That is no way to do it. Business abhors uncertainty and episodic effort. it is like no approval at all. Just about that bad.

Project success if the sequential linking of phases without interruption.

Let me guess, he’s authorizing three drill sites that would cost three times as much to drill than the revenue they would produce?
