PC and now woke is making a mockery of higher education , especially in the arts.
Reminds me of the old USSR when it fell in 1990 or so. They had Doctors and professors earning far, far less than janitors and women selling used jeans in open markets. Part of it I think was intricacies of the economic failure. Much of it I think was simply due to the “free” education system they had previously, the country was flooded with diplomas.
The West seems to be following the same pattern.
