University of South Florida (USF) student Andrew Davis was denied access to the mental health help he sought because he was not part of the black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) community, exclusive emails and documentation obtained by Campus Reform show.
After noticing that none of the "Understanding Self and Others" (USO) group therapy meetings worked with his schedule, Davis asked USF’s counseling center on Oct. 3 of 2022 if he could instead attend the BIPOC meeting since this worked with his schedule.
In the email sent to the counseling center, Davis inquired, “I am interested in attending a USO group meeting after completing the pre-group appointment but the only day/time that works for me is Wednesdays during the BIPOC students-only group. I am not a BIPOC student but was wondering if I would still be able to attend?”
“Unfortunately, we do need to keep this space specific to BIPOC folks ... Hopefully you’ll be able to catch another one either during Winter break and/or next semester," the USF Counseling Center responded to Davis.
After receiving this response, Davis filed a complaint with USF'S Office of Compliance & Ethics on Oct. 5. It was not until Feb. 8 of this year, however, that Davis received a response.
According to Davis, during an Oct. 18 Microsoft Teams information-gathering meeting regarding this issue, Equal Opportunity Officer Kenneth Thomas “was accusatory" and "asked me if I even knew what BIPOC meant and if I understood the importance of those groups having their own discussion."
"He did not seem concerned about my complaint and was more worried about the University's ability to continue these groups," Davis relayed.
When the Office finally issued their official decision on Feb. 8, it read,

He just needs to identify as a black or indigenous lesbian.
Problem solved.
obama fundamentally transformed america. Enjoy.
Ironically, being barred from such a meeting can only be a positive in terms of mental health.
Exactly, did they even ask it what it identified as?
I don’t get it. Everyone crams diversity/exclusivity down our throats in a daily ritual and then politicians get to make speeches proclaiming how “racist” and full of hatred the country is. Are they purposely that ignorant or just born that way? Are they THAT out of touch?
The guy is nuts for wanting to attend such a thing in the first place.
A big fat lawsuit against the school for racism should cheer him up a bit if he wins
Using lawfare is the ONLY solution here.
“Unfortunately, we do need to keep this space specific to BIPOC folks ... Hopefully you’ll be able to catch another one either during Winter break and/or next semester,“
That is because “BIPOC” is a woketard snowflake term for “entitled colored” and they cannot be imposed upon by allowing white folks to be present. As one might expect, there is no similar privilege for whites.
Another solution would be for the guy to sack up and get on with his life. I don’t imagine there’ll be much “understanding” to be found as the only white member of an otherwise BIPOC therapy group.
I wonder if they would let him use the water fountain in the BIPOC therapy space.
Racism Racism Racism ... oh wait ... he’s white ... nothing to see just move on.
Many in this country believe what happened to this young man is justified. Conflict is inevitable.
Weasel words to escape accountability for discrimination and yet avoid the wrath of the rising BIPOC activists cult.
Afterwards they probably sent him a bill for reparations.
They’re triggered because they are being both socialized and educated to fear White people in the 21st century over what may have happened between some ancestors. They want the US to become the next battleground for ethnic conflict with perpetual grudges by sowing fear and doubt. They are obsessed with differences rather than common ground. It’s not by accident, or happenstance. It’s by design to undermine the United States of America and likely supported by our rivals like China, Russia and Iran.
There’s a reason we, as an American People, should unify under the red, white and blue and reject separatist movements, separate national anthems, etc.
