It sounds like you had an interesting life!

I was born in VA on the Army base (Ft. Lee) when Dad was in the service. When he was discharged, we moved back to Tennessee. We had to move to S. Florida when I was two because of my asthma. There were no treatments for it back then. We moved back to TN when I started high school. So, I have lived in three states but only remember two.

I don’t travel. I have never been on a plane. My husband and I made a road trip to Montana and back when we got married almost 40 years ago. I haven’t been out of the state in almost 30 years. LOL Mom liked to travel. She offered to take me on an all-expense paid trip to Jamaica years ago and I refused because of the plane.

Mom and Dad met when Mom’s parents moved to Chattanooga when my grandfather went to work at Combustion Engineering in the 50’s. Mom was a social butterfly while Dad was more or a hermit, like me.

Dad wasn’t much of a traveler. He made an annual trip back to FL to check on the old neighborhood and former co-workers, but Dad’s heart was in the mountains, like mine.

My parents had totally different backgrounds but managed to stay together for 60 years.

Sharp contrast.

It sounds like you had an interesting life!

That's one way to put it. Different, certainly.

I don’t travel. I have never been on a plane.

I have done a lot of traveling; by auto, motorcycle, aircraft, ships and boats. When I was working in Hawaii, I was doing so much traveling around the islands on business that my employer decided it would be cheaper for him to pay for my flight training so I could fly myself in his airplane than to pay for commercial flights. That saved a lot of time and money. (That was a great job in a thousand ways). So I have a pilot's license.

When I retired, We immediately sailed away and started a new life. And now we are settled in here in Alaska.

All because Johnny from Vermont got drafted and stationed in Missouri for training during WWII where he met and married Flo and took her back home with him and introduced her little sister to a co-worker.
