Bowling Green’s Elissa Brett Punched by Memphis Guard After WNIT Win

Following Bowling Green’s 73–60 victory in the women’s NIT Super 16 on Thursday night, an ugly scene broke out during the handshake line between Falcons players and the Memphis players and coaching staff.
Memphis star player Jamirah Shutes stopped the line and exchanged some words with Bowling Green senior Elissa Brett. After a brief altercation, Shutes punched Brett in the face before being pulled away by members of the Tigers coaching staff.

This article is completely dishonest. The reporter implies that this incident happened during a mutual argument. In fact, the Memphis player sucker punched the opponent.

Give her a permanent suspension and charge her with assault. Could you imagine the uproar if it was a white player assaulting a black player like that? Getting tired of the double standards on how these incidents are treated in the media depending on race.
