California's San Diego State men's basketball team banned from paying for travel to Texas to play in program's first Final Four game

A lawmaker in California is hoping to overturn the state's ban on government funding for travel to states with laws they find discriminatory.

Since 2016, California has been steadily adding to its list of U.S. destinations barred from state-funded travel. The practice began in retaliation to North Carolina enacting a law requiring people to use the bathrooms that corresponded with their biological sex.

State Sen. Toni Atkins is seeking to overturn the prohibition, saying that the cumbersome regulations should be replaced with a marketing campaign promoting inclusion.

LOL! California won't pay for the team, to go to the final four, because it is held in that "bigoted" state of Texas.

And not a single one of those states gives a tinker’s damn. This helps no one and only hurts CA.

IOW a typical lib virtue-signaling exercise.

Alinsky Rule 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.

Can anyone get a quick restraining order against SD State?

It would be sweet if Texas could return the favor, and ban San Diego State from playing in their state due to “bigotry.”

“I try not to even transit through the airport there”

Good practice for when CA finally figures out how to automatically tax your income for time spent in that state when on business travel. They’d do it now but they can’t effectively enforce it yet.

Don’t be fooled only reason Toni Atkins want to change the law is to go to republican states and force educat said states to see the lbgtq way of things.

So does that mean that San Diego State won’t accept the check for being in the final four?

“… replaced with a marketing campaign promoting inclusion.”

GREAT PLAN! They can use this “inclusion” photo in their first marketing campaign. It would instantly win over everybody in flyover country.
