The Department of Justice recommended zero jail time for a transgender individual who vandalized the St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue, Wash.
Maeve Nota, 31, a male who identifies as a woman, admitted to vandalizing the church last summer, smashing two glass doors and spray-painting a number of profane messages, including “F*** Catholics,” “rot in your fake hell,” “kid groomers,” and “woman haters.” Nota also admitted to destroying a statue of the Virgin Mary, assaulting a church worker, and resisting arrest.
According to filings from early March, reviewed by Fox News, the DOJ charged Nota with misdemeanor destruction of religious property, which carries up to one year in prison and $100,000 in fines. However, a week later, the Justice Department recommended no jail time and three years of probation for Nota’s sentencing on June 2, Fox News reported.

Also, Christians are not a protected class of victims.
Now, if the victim were a mosque or a synagogue, then it'd be protected class criminal vs. protected class victim, and the DOJ would have a dilemma.
Or a baby murdering abortion clinic. SWAT would be on their doorstep that same day.

“They”??? Only one criminal is identified, and I strongly suspect that the monetary value of the damage HE caused is enough to elevate HIS crimes to felonies. HE belongs in prison. Male prison. Because HE is not female
Even ignoring the vandalism and hate crime, assault and resisting arrest are serious felonies.
He should also be charged with impersonating a female.
He broke State laws. The State can jail him.
I see. Hate crimes are not intended to be applied equally.
