Larraine Newman was the underrated one.
"Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger, Pepsi".
No coke

Cheeburger

Ackroyd working the grill with a cig.. perfect!
No bananas, coconuts.
SNL started when I was in college.
Saturday nights parties would stop, TVs would go on, and we all watched SNL.
Fond memories.
I never forgot this one.
And
No coke. Pessi!
SNL was legend from the start until Belusi and Ackroyd left. After that it became painful to watch...with a few brief exceptions.
Yep, we were serious bar denizens but on Sat. nights it had to wait until after SNL.
It wasn’t long before the Dark Horse Bar in Boulder had a big TV over the bar with SNL on it.
bump
Yup. that’s the way I remember it
Price on the wall: “Cheeseburger 79¢”
Today it would be “Cheeseburger $7.90” — 10X in 45 years.
I didn’t think that it was funny when it was on the first time but I was watching on a black and white TV and was young.
Save yourselves and cut off that ‘programming’ now.
How funny is this? Jim Belushi was just on the Adam Corolla podcast talking about these skit’s his brother John did . Turns out he was imitating their Father and Uncle...Their Dad was an immigrant from Albania and his accent was truly that thick. Jim was smiling the whole time while describing this .
Wow John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray all in the same skit.
I remember watching this as little boy, and sometimes people would mention from time to time in late 70s and early 80s.
Now I wanted to watch it as an adult. It’s okay at best, but interesting with big 3 in this skit. Plus it looked like they were really cooking burgers! Haha!
$1 in 1978 has the same purchasing power as $4.63 today.

$0.79 x 4.63 = $3.66.
Show me the restaurant where I can get that $3.66 burger. I’m hungry. Do they sell burgers in your. Elk of the woods for $3.66?
Back when funny was funny. Thanks.
