Hollywood star Mark Hamill, best known for his portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga, ended up committing quite a blunder after he participated in a video chat with members of Ukrainian armed forces. During said chat, a fragment of which Hamill shared on Twitter, Hamill praised the Ukrainian militants who he claimed were "fighting the good fight" and compared Ukrainian forces to the rebels from Star Wars.
"It was a pleasure meeting with the brave Ukrainian drone operators. We talked about the challenges they face on a daily basis, but they also wanted to talk about Wookiees & farm boys & droids, oh my!" the actor wrote in the tweet.
While many social media users praised Hamill for this act, quite a few netizens pointed at the flag that was seen in the video chat hanging behind Ukrainian militants.
The red-and-black banner in question appeared to be the flag of the so-called Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), an infamous Ukrainian nationalist militant group that collaborated with the Nazis during World War II and perpetrated acts of ethnic cleansing against civilians of Polish and Jewish descent in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia.

There’s no Nazi flag. Quit parroting neo-Stalinist propaganda.
Back when I was a kid in the 50's and 60's, the word "queer" was slang for homos, and you were shushed if you said it. Today, that's what they call themselves. It cracks me up.
Meanwhile, Putin's openly imperialistic and authoritarian Russia rocket-bombs civilian targets.
Get your priorities straight!

“ There’s no Nazi flag. Quit parroting neo-Stalinist propaganda”
You’re funny! Blind too, but in a sad kind of way.
...but, but, the Ukrainians are GOOD NAZIS, similar to the ‘Democrat Opposition’ in Syria that we supported (the fact that they were actually ISIS is not to be discussed here), or the Freedom Fighter in Kosovo (the fact that they committed at least as many crimes against humanity as the Serbian government is not to be discussed here), or a bunch more of a our recent bedfellows.
These Ukrainians only idolize the WW2 Nazis who killed the Jews in the first half of the 20th century, as I can assure you that not a single Ukrainian Nazi (today) had anything to do with killing Jews back then - so why should these ‘Good Nazis’ be associated with them, just because they use the same symbols and look at those past Nazis as heroes? Oh please, let’s not get picky - remember these are GOOD NAZIS, wouldn’t hurt a fly.
America’s Pet Nazis are real, all more than he reason the US and Ukraine will lose this conflict. The US is backing a dark horse.
If anything, Russia is reverting to its Soviet past these days. Right, товарищ?

The “Peace” symbol appears on Hitler’s Panzers. (See cover of June 2014 “WWII History” magazine).
How many Jews has Zelinskyy sent away?
LOL, Putin invades neighboring Ukraine for territorial gain, unleashes massive suffering, death and destruction and then calls the Ukrainians fighting to defend their families, homes and country "nazis". That's real chutzpah!
It is definitely not the flag of the UPA. It has a sunwheel and the number 98 in the center. Not sure what the 98 means but it could be an analogue to the ‘88’ that some extremists use in the English speaking world. So it may be a neo-nazi group flag, but not that of the UPA.
I see the light now! Thank you for that explanation.
I guess Soros, Biden, The Media have STOPPED lying to us, and are telling us the truth now on how we must support Ukraine.
I am this close to being a Biden fan now (like you?)
Liberals eating their own?
