Who will pay their salary of the bottom drops out of the economy and no one can afford to see the games?
The TV contracts pretty much cover the salary cap. And sports tends to be pretty recession proof. At least in the big leagues. Minor leagues have issues because they tend to be in small “one industry” towns, so if that industry takes it on the chin they’re hosed.
