The couple, Ashley Knutson and Devontae Garrisson-Johnson, say they had just left Nordstrom and were walking through the Loop looking for a place to eat when they were caught up in a large group of teens and young adults Saturday.
Knutson, visiting the area from South Carolina, and Garrison-Johnsson, of Maywood, tried to make their way through the crowd, but they were quickly overwhelmed.
“We were trying to walk through the crowd, and I was holding his hand and he was walking in front me,” Knutson said. “First they shoved him, and then they ended up shoving me too.”
A now-viral video, originally posted by CWB Chicago, shows a large group of people viciously attacking the couple, punching and kicking both of them while stomping on Garrison-Johnsson’s head.

And it wouldnt be Chicago without completing the sweep:
"The group stole the couple’s shoes and phones, along with their credit cards."
Leave Chicago. In fact, leave Illinois.
Looking at photos of the couple, I can see what set off the ferals and sparked the melee.
Thank God for that Good Samaritan woman who put her life in danger to help that couple.
All I can say is God save us from what is happening to this country.
The State department needs to declare Chicago unsafe for American and Foreign tourist travel. All deliveries of supplies should stop at the city limits including fuel and food. Truckers should not put themselves in danger or their goods.
I am so glad they are alive. I thought they might have been beaten and stomped to death.
And wherever you go, take Scott Adam's advice.
And somehow comparing this to the actions of chimpanzees is frowned upon.
Even Jessie Jackson advises people to avoid groups of blacks.
Welcome to the jungle!
Proceed at your own risk.
Walked that route at night many times. Used to have a townhouse right by Marshal Fields
Your personal safety is your personal responsibility. Situational awareness is imperative. Never approach a mob or let a mob approach you. Enter a building until they pass. Cross the street a block before you would be within their reach. Never fuel your car if the other persons around you seem sketchy or animated. Never enter a gas station mini-mart if there is a group inside or people wearing hoodies or masks. Never use an ATM in an open public area. Always check your six o’clock after leaving any establishment. That also applies to your vehicle.
Never walk through a pack of wild and rabid dogs thinking you won’t get bitten.
With that said, examination of the video should allow the police to apprehend a large number of the Attempted Murderers, but they won’t
Sage advice.
I think I can credit my SA when I almost had an incident with a woman at the grocery store. She loudly accused me of hitting her with my cart, which hadn’t happened. As I moved past her, I heard her talking loudly, and decided within a few seconds that she was planning to continue with her outburst. I left my cart silently and left the store. I know that wasn’t going to end well. Something just didn’t seem right. Sometimes it’s best to remove yourself from a situation completely.
I’m not at all familiar with it. I generally don’t enjoy big cities. Too many people and not enough room for me.
Shitcago.
New York Shitty.
Lost Angeles.
Large cities are ruined, thanks to the demonrats.
Everything they touch turns to crap.
Some crazy woman on crazy checks doesn’t need to be the battle that gets you into any official record. Remaining invisible provides almost perfect protection.
And always pack heat if permitted. If not permitted then don’t go there.
To disappear, never move to a small town. Never move to a big city. Cities just under 100,000 are big enough to remain anonymous but small enough to exist on cash and few documents of record. Always rent a place from a couple on a handshake. Plenty on Craigslist. That doesn’t exist in huge cities.
“Knutson, visiting the area from South Carolina,”
Why?
Rule number 1 of travel: don’t travel to crime ridden, third world, Democrat hellholes
