MICHELLE OBAMA APPEARED on The Tonight Show to continue promoting her most recent book The Light We Carry. On the show, she took the opportunity to reflect on what it was like to return to the White House last fall after spending eight years there as the First Lady. She and former president Barack Obama went back to hang their portraits after not being invited to do so while Donald Trump was in office.
“It was really a beautiful experience,” she recalled. “It’s a tradition – you do your official portraits, the next president is supposed to invite you back to hang them. We were never invited back, so these pictures have been done for a long, long time… So it was good to see everybody.”
Obama also discussed how she feels that change happens best in “small bites” and her continued belief in the motto “When they go low, we go high.”
“People still keep asking me, ‘You still mean that? Still?'” she said. “I didn’t know I’d be known for that line, but I’m proud of that. People ask me, ‘Do I ever go low’ and yeah, I go low. I go low a lot of times. But I think for people who have a platform who are being looked up to, we have a responsibility to stay high. Because kids are watching us. If you need to go low, go low at home.”

Why would she want to go back? She complained about living in a house built by slaves.
I don’t know if that is historically accurate, but she said the White House was built by slaves.
Of course, there was an easy solution for her if she really hated being in that house. But she still lived there for 8 years.

The British torched major rooms in the Capitol, which then housed the Library of Congress, as well as the House, Senate and Supreme Court. The White House, the navy yard and several American warships were also burned.
Before vacating the premises on August 24, 1814, Mrs. Madison ordered that official papers and the Washington portrait should be saved from British hands. The painting returned to the White House after it was rebuilt in 1817.

Same as when I heard some gas car restrictions and suppression of freedom of speech plans discussed in soundbites. And Hillary quoted disdainfully insulting Trump and DeSantis. While she’s not in prison.

She has no need for the Presidency. That usually requires some amount of work, unless you’re a senile geezer.
I’m so old I remember when the Obama’s said they didn’t want to unveil their portraits at the White House while Trump was in office and held their unveiling of their “official portraits” at a DNC fundraiser. Then when Biden got into office, well sonuvabiche they suddenly unveiled NEW portraits to hang at the White House.
The UGLIEST PORTRAITS EVER!!! Ridiculous....Obama in a Dining Room POOPING in the garden and Mooch with a HUGE UGLY dress not looking anything like her! HIDEOUS!
