When Deion Sanders walked into Colorado's meeting room for the first time, he told players that the more of them that enter the transfer portal, the more room they'll make for players who are "smart, tough, fast, [and] disciplined with character."
After the Buffaloes' spring game, 13 more players decided to hit the portal on Monday.
The football world reacted to Colorado's mass exodus of players on social media.
"He's gotta have some DAWGS lined up to join him out of the portal! There's no way he just starts talking crazy to kids and making them want to leave," a user replied.

And if he fails, it is on him. But he deserves the chance.

If i white coach said this he would be deemed a racist, a bully and fired
They haven’t been competitive in a while so no one will notice. They need some stoner players like Spicoli, dude.
Don’t think the football world really cares about the players bugging out. Mike Leach lost lots of players at Washington State when he came in also before he turned that program around.
Judging by the play of UC boulder last year...Sanders prob. ain’t missing too much.
Hopefully the transfers find a program that matches their own goals. Not every athlete gonna’ be a pro at any level.
On balance, I don’t really care that much. Good luck to all.
Deoin talks about God a lot. Not as popular a subject as bitches and hoes.
I think Coach Prime is requiring drug tests so the marijuana smokers are bailing.
D1 college football is rapidly becoming a question of which booster programs can raise enough to buy the best players. There has always been a class system, but it will now collapse into a game in which no more than ten programs will be competitive. And none of the elite programs will even pretend that the players are students. That battle was lost years ago.
Time.To.Pull.The.Plug.
Turn all college sports back into club programs. The pros can run their own farm teams.
This isn’t unusual. Whenever a new coach goes to a new program, they look to clean house.
Agreed.
I’ve read some about Deion Sanders recently. And all of it has impressed me.
Which means he’s on the wrong side of the establishment (and that’s good).
That ain’t new. Been that way for a long time
Yes he did. But the "portal" crap did not impact him early on there as it does a program today
When players know they can "make" tens of thousands a year, even on a losing team, why stay some place that will ask them to earn those thousands?
you are correct....
DAWGS and STALLIONS eager to play ball.
Is this excerpt supposed to be coherent?
I don’t know his politics which is good. He’s done well as a HC so far, good for him, don’t need to tell him to “shut up and sing” (either way).
So far I’m impressed with him.

13 from that Spring game? I guess that’s a good start. They are terrible.
They won 1 game last year.
Somehow I think they’ll be fine.
Sounds like Bear and “The Junction Boys”. That A&M team only won 2 games that first year.
