Costner is a self centered fool. He’s putting his knee on the livelyhood of everyone on the series. It could have easily gone on for many more seasons, if you weren’t such a little girl...
Nonsense. Costner and the series gave these other actors lifetime careers. I really liked Costner in the mini-series about the Hatfields and McCoys.
“He’s putting his knee on the livelyhood of everyone on the series.”
This is an overreaction. They are continuing the show with a new name. Worthy actors will be brought along. When you don’t like your job, you are allowed to quit.
No he’s not. They’ve already shown they can do story without him. And he is after all a movie guy, not a TV guy. TV is a grind, it’s hard to find time for other projects. And as a movie guy he’s not built for doing the same character over and over for years. The new show will do fine. It might, or might not, bring other actors from the show in. But all shows end, everybody in the business knows that. A 5 year gig is a great run, most TV gigs never go to series, they’re 3 weeks to shoot a pilot that might not even get aired. Actors spend more time looking for work than doing the work. Everybody is used to it.
life cycle of a project like Yellowstone is about seven years...the level of talent involved with a series like Yellowstone you will have most moving on to other projects.
Me personally hate it when a creative person gets tied to a series to long. give me a limited series that has good consistent writing over a series that limps for years surviving on the love of what the series once was.
