A Florida dentist was arrested over the weekend for allegedly assaulting another man with a golf club at a golf course, causing him serious injuries including broken ribs.
Eddie Orobitg, 52, was arrested on the course and booked into the Lake County jail on a charge of aggravated battery, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said.
Police had been called to the Harbor Hills Golf Course in Lady Lake, Florida, on Sunday afternoon after reports that a man was attacked by another with a golf club.
The victim, Dr Joseph Sivak, claims he nearly died in an interview and that the alleged assault left him with fractured cheekbones and his ear having to be stitched.
According to Sivak, he had been walking with his wife on the course path when Orobitg told him he wasn't supposed to be when the brutal attack happened.
Sivak said he lost consciousness during the alleged incident and told Fox35 Orlando that Orobitg kept on striking him with the club.
Sivak said: 'I nearly died, that's the thing that scared me.'
Orobitg is alleged to have told the former doctor that the path way was reserved exclusively for those on golf carts.
He also said that he suffered broken ribs, fractured cheekbones and had to have his ear stitched following the alleged assault.
The two men live in the same gated community, with the house that Orobitg lives in being estimated as being worth $949,000 according to real estate site Zillow.
Body camera footage from the Lake County Sheriff's Office show him acting surprised as he arrested.
He asks the deputies: 'Why am I being arrested sir? This is unbelievable.'

While the dentist and his son claim the doctor hit first, according to the victim, it was the dentist who struck first:
According to Sivak, a verbal altercation escalated to a physical altercation when Orobitg hit Sivak in the leg with a golf club.
“At some point [Orobitg] struck him with a golf club on the side of his head from behind and that during the altercation he defended himself by striking [Orobitg] with his water bottle,” the affidavit said. “He stated that [Orobitg] continued to strike him several times and that he believes his ribs were broken.”

Golf rule 128.3b - You will not go where you aren’t supposed to go. One club penalty. It’s in there.
Full contact golf... that’s something I’d watch.
who was arrested for the interview? 🤣
I always heard interviews could be murder....
Yup—we have the makings of a new sport here—new reality TV show—golf course mayhem!
Normally folks are very friendly and relaxed on golf courses—often houses are very close to the course—this was very bizarre.
Golf in Florida is a dangerous sport.
Yet another example of why it’s a good idea to carry police-grade pepper spray.
It’s best to disengage when you can. But if you can’t, you need an option in between using your fists and using a gun.
If you are aged and being threatened, strike first, strike hard and disable the attacker. Then run. Otherwise you will be beaten within an inch of your life.
Aged folks are at an extreme disadvantage.
Maintain situational awareness and be not where hazards dwell.
It sucks to be old. The offending golfer got hit first, he could have killed the walker, the golfer needs some time and a serious lawsuit for some big cash... which will probably be covered by liability insurance and if the golfer is an LLC it won’t even touch him. Prison time would definately screw with his covering stategy though.
what do you call a male Karen? Kyle? why doesn’t he just mind his own business?
Less fillings.
Ken or Kevin. There’s still a debate about that.
“Fore!” “Head!”
got it!
I’m sure the son of a bitch had it coming to him.
Seriously, an old coot shot and killed another old coot for stealing his line for a laundry machine, in a very nice gated community, not ten miles from my place.
I’m an old coot too. This is nonsense. It’s not like somebody stole a parking spot. Then it’s perfectly reasonable to open fire.
Oh, did I mention I live in Florida?
My read is that both parties are at fault.
The Karen-clown behavior of the golfer was totally inexcusable, and the walker should have worked much harder to defuse the situation instead of escalating it.
I love my state.
