In the last few years of Rush’s run on radio, he was on more FM stations that AM, here in Jacksonville, FL he was on an AM station starting out but switched to a FM station at least 10 years before he passed away.

I used to drive back and forth to Alabama quite often from Jacksonville, Fl I had all the stations I could listen to his show along the way, I could listen to Rush on an FM station the entire time.

If AM radio is to continue after they remove it from Car radios, the price of AM licenses should crater and some enterprising person will buy them at a more reasonable price and do something with them, what that is I don’t know, I doubt AM radio will go away completely but drastically change.

There are some decent talk radio programs in my area, all of which are on FM as well as AM. No need to miss out.

Funny you mentioned car radios. I was shopping for a nice system for my garage/ shop and most shelf stereo systems didn’t have am. Finally found a good one and it has amazing sound and reception for its size. Better sound than my old tower speakers even.
