“Love it, and Johnny Cash, but FYI, Hank Snow did the original in 1962.”

I actually knew that, but for some reason my mind kept telling me it was “John Snow”. (It’s heck getting old! Those little details just wander away....never to be seen again).

Decades ago, music was created by minds, thoughts, experiences, and nimble fingers all while sitting on the front porch, in a field of wildflowers, or a out-of-the-place little-known bar. Now, it is all created by paid-for song writers, AI, and just three chords or riffs, while in a recording studio.

I prefer the older music!

Definitely! The old lyrics are so much better than the new that are just a mish mash of words. Current songwriters do not know how to tell a story in verse. I am heartened tho, that many young people comment and appreciate the older music that is posted on YouTube.
I’m so old, I actually remember Hank Snow, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, all the greats, playing on my parents’ car radio.
