For the most part, I think alcohol is given about 10 times the blame. I am not an expert on DUI laws, but I don't think people who kill people in a DUI do get less punishment than if they weren't drunk. But maybe a lawyer can confirm how that breaks down.

In the January when marijuana was legalized in CA, there was a car crash with four fatalities in January. The story was all over the news. But then when the test results came back and the driver was on pot alone, all of the sudden it disappeared from the media, and you couldn't even find the back articles.

In parts of Canada we now have full-on total drug legalization, while they move toward total tobacco bans.

The Regime wants people, isolated, obese, demoralized, depressed; and they promote dope, porn, fast food, online games and gambling in order to temp people to destroy themselves.

The last thing the Regime wants is for young people, to meet together, chain smoke cigarettes, and plot revolution.

I know for a fact that CA DUI laws do not carry different penalties depending on what the driver had in their system that caused the “Influence”. If you are accused of Driving Under the Influence in CA it covers prescribed medications, alcohol, marijuana, speed, everything & anything. All of the penalties (jail, fines, classes, probation) are exactly the same. I know people who were on their prescribed low dose pain med and paid the price. I even know a guy with a DUI for riding a skateboard stoned, because the vehicle doesn’t matter. On your news story that vanished: I know a girl who crashed a car and killed two passengers while completely sober in great weather and the first two news stories said that alcohol was probably involved. But, I’m talking about the DUI capital of the world, Ventura County, CA. It’s Different in other Counties and States.

There is absolutely no difference in the law as to whether you are under the influence of alcohol or weed, or any other substance (legal or illegal) that impairs your ability to drive.

DUI is just that DUI, it does not distinguish or change punishment based on what substance you are Under the Influence of.
