A wide variety of historical, economic and cultural forces combine to allow a larger percentage of whites to climb up the socioeconomic ladder than Blacks and Hispanics.
Some people call the combined effects of these forces “white privilege.” Though these words are commonly used, research by Lia Bozarth and me has found that use of “white privilege” on social media can actually decrease support for racially progressive policies.
We found that the term can increase online political polarization and lead to lower quality conversations on social media. In particular, the term drives some whites who would otherwise support efforts toward racial equality away from online conversations.......
The term “white privilege” had two effects.
The first was to decrease the quality of conversation among both whites and non-whites. There were more comments that insulted people, attacked the question itself or simply made no sense.
The second effect was to make the set of responses less supportive of renaming the buildings – and more polarized.
The people who were asked about racial inequality were, on average, very supportive. Those who thought it was a good idea to rename college buildings outnumbered opponents more than 2-to-1.

So “white privilege” limits discussion. What does “White privilege” do? That might trigger somebody somewhere.
I’m white and I am privileged because I worked my ass off all my life. That makes me supreme, as in white supremacy because quite honestly I am because I educated my self, continued to educate myself and worked my way up. I hold considerable contempt for lazy asses expecting me to pay their damn way through the taxes I pay. It’s because I pay my way and their way that makes me superior. If they don’t like it, then get a real job and shut up.
There is no such thing as white privilege. There is a penchant for people to more easily deal with people with whom they share a tribal bond. Whites are the distinct majority here (for now). It may not be fair, but it is perfectly understandable.

If it is true, how do you explain poor whites? Millions in Appalachia and in the industry-dying Midwest?
“White privilege” is a presumptive conclusion gives one side of the argument a positional leg up that creates the illusion of intellectual superiority. If you accept this presumption, you’re starting at a disadvantage that relieves the other side of asserting a reasoned viewpoint.
That's how I felt when he was nominated. Then I saw the ‘Rev. Wright. “God damn America” video .... over and over and over on TV.
When “O’Bozo” was delinquent and half-a&%ed in his laughably irresolute effort to distance himself from that guy, and STILL got elected... I KNEW we were in for it and that NOTHING was going to change.
If anything .... it got worse.
BTW... why didn't anyone tell me about ‘white privilege” while my boss was kicking s&@t in my face DAILY, for 15 years??
People who use the term white privilege or even condone its use are hateful racists. To reason with them. Is like reasoning with Hitler or the ayatollah. They hate you. They believe white people exist to put down black people. And when you start to give in. Its a very long road of giving up, until you have no stuff and no rights. You are in the wrong for everything at all times.

“White privilege” is bigoted and prejudicial. Further, it’s largely a misnomer or a lie.
The phrase “white privilege” is itself racist, undeniably racist.
To include a racist phrase in a discussion about race would be like slapping someone while discussing the importance of non-violence.
Not that any of this matters to our woke elite.
In a way there is can be some truth to the statement, for example, if you drive into a McDonalds are all you see are blacks or tattooed up hispanics, are you going to stop and eat or get the hell out of there?
I will get the hell out of there. And whites will avoid black areas in favor of shopping in white areas, but that’s just plain self preservation in action.
