The local law enforcement labels it "huffing". The local stores have to lock up the gold spray paint. It is the preference for the local "natives" to steal. The gold paint on the mouth and nose is an instant giveaway. The ingredient sought in this case is the toluene solvent.
Inhalants are a cheap and dangerous "high". Ditto for alcohol ODs. My wife has a former co-worker whose 15 year old son is in a coma from alcohol OD. The prospects for recovery are slim to none. It's hard to watch parents hanging on to irrational expectations of a miraculous recovery.
