“I’m an Ophthalmologist who early in my career specialized in diabetic eye disease and saw horrible things pre-A1C.”

It’s still not clear to me whether it’s the blood Glucose, or the Insulin levels that are causing damage to the Retina. Hopefully the FACTS about this comes out, at some point.

I believe it is strictly the excess glucose.

Insulin just loses its ability to shunt blood sugar into muscles and fat cells, to achieve a healthy level of glucose.

Spent decades watching diabetics with A1C’s in the 5’s NEVER developing eye disease.

It’s almost like a cancer but you can control it’s outcome.

Went through it when was pregnant with my kids. Behaving pays off big time.
