SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A San Francisco dog owner is warning other pet owners in the city of what happened to her dog, Pockets, after she got sick from ingesting human waste tainted with marijuana and opioids at a park in the city.
"I noticed she was eating something, so I ran over to see what she was eating and, unfortunately, it was poop," says Shepard.
It wasn't until several hours later Shepard noticed something was very wrong.
"At about 8 o'clock, she was wobbling, and her tail was down. Something was definitely wrong with her."
Documents from emergency care showed Pockets had symptoms from marijuana intoxication and there were opioids in her system --frightening enough on its own, but something else was alarming.
"Essentially, the doctor on that night told me this was relatively common, and she sees it a few times a week," says Shepard.

Friggin’ San Francisco. I don’t know why anyone would want to live in that third world sewer.

The owner knows this when the dog immediately licked her face and she could taste it.
Aside from pills from the vet I mean.
As long as the cats around me don’t start using, my dog is safe.
Tearing down America in order to remake it is going to be and incredible fail.
The country is just plain sick. It was such a beautiful and fine place. No more.
Can't for the life of me believe that human feces could still contain enough opioids (or other drugs) to make an animal sick.
Any biochemists / pharmacologists / forensic pathologists in the room who care to weigh in?

Or maybe Pockets got into ol’ Jackie’s gummies, and getting stoned on homeless poop was the best story she could come up with for the vet.
The good news - she didn't step in it.
Yeah, I have to avert my gaze when I see people swappin’ spit with their dogs! And, dogs will most certainly eat sh*t and run rabbits if they’re off-leash!
Well, that’s a bitch...
Now that it’s affecting animals, the left will be motivated to do something about it.
The heck with how it affects humans and destroys lives.

Knowing what dogs will eat is why I don’t allow them to lick me.....
Just the thought of eating any feces makes me sick
I live in southern NH on 12 acres. We have three long coated Chihuahuas. They love to go outside and run the yard. Which we only let them do when we are with them.
They immediately find rabbit poop to eat. Nothing like a great rabbit poop snack to make their day.
If you don’t know its a Baby Ruth, don’t assume it is.
Reminder to never have a dog, and let it roam through a park, in SF.
