I actually lived on Oahu when my Dad was stationed there back in the 70s, but I never went to the other islands when we lived there.
Must be nice.
We had to spend 2 years in nasty old Italy when my dad was military.
I have Polaroid pictures of Waikiki my dad took in 1944. They were doing drills on the beach. Pulling cannons with horses.
There was nothing on beach back then except the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.
