Wouldn’t viscous thugs be very sticky?
No I am not arguing stomping on someones head repeatedly after they are down is okay.. not at all. We never did that, but there were certainly a few kicks to the ribs that were given in the heat of the moment.
This situation is very different, when you get outnumbered 40 to 3, you are now in a MOB situation... and that’s NOT a good place to be, for anyone, because a group of that size doesn’t have a “leader”, or even solid connection between the individuals. All it takes is 1 person in that situation to take it too far, and then the mob follows suit.
Please, don’t take my comments as me saying these teens were justified in what they did, that’s not the point I was tryin to make. I was merely pointing out that in my experience, I’ve personally witnessed young marines do VERY VERY STUPID things, including instigating situations that a sane person would never do.
I have no problem with these kids facing prosecution, but I am also not naive enough to just take the Marine’s story at face value without question.
These days nearly everything winds up on video somewhere, so I am sure the truth will come out.
If I had to venture a guess, the truth is the kids were being rowdy, and he marines weren’t quite as “perfect” as they claim to have been in dealing with them.
Let’s be honest, teenagers are pricks, and young men lack wisdom... its not a giant leap to see that the kids behavior and probably attitude and smart mouths got one of the marines to be very unwise, even if there intention was to keep it “civil”.
You sat on that account for 4 years before using it?
When engaging a group of 40+ teens, make sure the following tactical advice is utilized:
1) Arrange the three Marines, each equipped with Squad Automatic Weapons, in a firing line with an approximate 25 yard interval.
2) Designate fields of fire to each Marine.
3) Have six claymore mines arranged 100 yards out, two to a field of fire.
4) String concertina wire out at about the 200 yard distance
5) Equip each marine with additional gear as follows: 4 grenades each, and a service pistol.
I believe, if they had set things up correctly, the Marines would have been victorious.
Troll.
they will undermine victims that disprove or undermine the main narrative (whitey, especially male whitey = the worst thing in the world always).
Otherwise they prop up any felonious assaulter as a saint if they are the proper skin color or “victim class”.
"In the original minute-long clip posted to Facebook, the Marines were seen trying to walk up the steps outside the Pier Bowl as a group of teenagers shouted at them.
The pier is located at the base of a large amphitheater like arrangement of tiered streets with houses, condos and apartments. The entire area is called: "The bowl" It is about 1/2 mile across and 1/4 mile up the hill.
The steps they refer to are the steps that go from the main street (Avenida Del Mar) down to the base of the pier. The were leaving the crowded pier area and headed towards the, tram stop, restaurants, coffee joints and pizza place on Avenida Del Mar.
The article is propaganda meant to slander Marines/US.
The best type is to use a kernel of truth then directs it towards whatever goal they have. Here the kernel is a few young Marines got drunk and rowdy and 1 pushed a teen his size, or near. What makes the article bunk is a MOB of 50 or so BLMTIFA types takes their hate out on the Marines (and what they represent to them that is traditional conservative USA) and nearly kill then in a gang beating.
The unspoken message? Young BLmTifa types are not bad, traditional USA is the real enemy.
Thanks for an honest reply. Not sure it went down that way, but it seems possible.
So there ya have it. If you push a teenager, it’s perfectly fine and legal for dozens of them to gang stomp you half to death.
Topless Marines? TTIWWOP!
I’m not sure it did either.. I am sure the truth will come out whatever it is
These guys are in for the same treatment I fear and may very well need a JAG lawyer.
When my 5’ tall daughter got out of USMC boot camp, she was pretty full of herself. She went to a party with her brother and managed to pick a fight with a 6’ tall, 200 lb guy fresh out of Army boot camp.
He picked her up with one hand, tossed her across the room on to a couch, then said, “Say, you’re really cute!”
She was just smart enough to decide “cute” might have some advantages in life...particularly at 5’ 0” and 95 pounds.
Doesn’t really have anything to do with what happened here, other than just a funny story. And...maybe worth remembering the next time a 95 lb woman in a movie kicks the butts of 6 guys with 250 pounds of muscle, all at one time.
Same here. Shame we have to get the news from DM
All in the interest of proper English and spelling.
As UK linguist David Crystal has said, when we lose a language, we lose “The expression of a unique vision of what it means to be human”.
Many influences - but especially the advent of the Internet and social media - are destroying English.
I’m on a mission :-)
Now, this account I believe.
Yep, your take sounds much like my take on this whole situation.
I am figuring it was a combination of rowdy teens, drunk Marines, and late-night bravado on both sides.
That is a cute story, I’m glad your daughter got snapped back into reality with a relatively safe interaction.
Yes, I always find movies amusing... Yes it’s very entertaining watching the hero single handedly beat a group of bad guys single handedly, but in the real world, that’s just not it works, even with the best training in the world.
